Managing Print Groups
You can use the menu items print groups to determine the location of the menu item on the meal ticket and group similar items together to assist with meal tray preparation. There are four print groups: Starter, Hot, Cold, and Expo. You can print separate tickets for Hot or Cold print groups only.
In a menu set, you can change a menu item’s print group for a particular meal or course. This is useful if meal preparation staff prepare for different meal periods, or if different facilities are using the same menu items within a multi-facility organization.
Locate the menu item.
Click print group icon.
Click print group icon.
You can change a print group from the menu entry screen for one instance. It does not affect the default print group. This is useful for multi-facility organizations, where different facilities need different print groups for the same menu item.
In the menu entry screen, click Use Default from the print group option to return the menu item to the default print group.
To globally change the default print group for a menu item, go to the Menu Item Detail screen or the Menu Items screen. You can use the Multi-Item Update screen to mass update the print group for multiple menu items or all menu items in a category. This applies to all menu sets.
Menu Items in a modifier sub-course always use the parent (primary) course’s print group so the menu items appear together on a meal ticket. For example:
Primary Course is Pasta and contains menu item Spaghetti in Hot Print Group.
Modifier sub-course to Pasta is Add-ons and contains menu item Parmesan Cheese which is in Cold Print Group.
Modifier item Parmesan Cheese prints below Spaghetti in Hot Print Group because it is an accompaniment for Spaghetti.
