Managing a Recipe

You can manage your recipes in Recipe Builder to maintain your Recipe Book. After a recipe is created, you can edit, print, duplicate, and delete.

Note

You can duplicate and modify an existing recipe to create a similar recipe. For example, duplicate Chocolate Pudding Pie to create Vanilla Pudding Pie.

Note

Rename Recipes allows you to batch rename recipes when terminology changes occur within your organization. For example, renaming due to new terminology per the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI).

This button is available on the Recipe Listing screen and is only visible if you have the Administrator user role assigned.

  1. Production > Recipe Builder.

  2. Click Details for specific recipe.

Recipe Details Header

  • Edit Recipe - Select to edit the recipe. Update the fields as required, then click Save.

  • Menu Item Links - Select to link multiple menu items to a single recipe. For example, different servings sizes or different textures. The menu item(s) must be linked to a recipe to print various recipe reports.

    1. Click Menu Item Links icon, then select a menu item.

    2. Click > to move from Available Menu Items to Linked Menu Items.

    3. Click < to move from Linked Menu Items to Available Menu Items.

  • Nutrition Facts - Click the Refresh icon to update Nutrition Facts after editing the recipe. Select Print to view the complete Nutrient Analysis Report.

  • Legend - List of icons used in Recipe Details

  • Toolbox - Select to access Measurement Converter, Fraction to Decimal Equivalents, and Scoop Size Equivalents.

  • Print - Click to print a single yield recipe, with our without the photo, view and print a resized recipe, or a complete Nutrient Analysis Report. Printing a resized recipe does not affect the main recipe. If you have a sub-recipe, it prints to the size of the main recipe.

  • Recipe Photo - Click Change Photo to upload recipe photo. The recipe photo must be uploaded to the computer before adding it to a recipe. Photo must be .jpeg and no more than 10 MG.

Recipe Details

  • Ingredients - Click the name of the ingredient in a recipe to view and edit the Ingredient Details, including category, nutrient item link, and weight to volume ratio.

    • Search icon - Select to add ingredients or a recipe. For example, adding A La King Sauce to the Chicken A La King recipe.

  • Description - Click in field to edit, if applicable.

  • Quantity - Click in field to edit, if applicable.

  • Quantity Conversion - Select to convert ingredient quantities from Conventional to Metric units and the reverse is also true.

  • Directions - Click Edit Recipe Directions to edit, if applicable. Click the check mark to save.

  • View Ingredient Analysis (per Serving) - Click to view a nutrient breakdown by ingredient for the recipe.

  • Up Down Arrows - Select to click and drag the recipe detail section up or down.

  • The Nutrition Facts table reads Cannot Calculate if there is a problem with the nutrient analysis of a recipe. Click the Printer icon to view the Problems Report. All problems must be corrected to calculate the nutrient analysis.

  • The quantity and unit of measure automatically adjust to ensure the recipe ingredients use practical units. For example, if you enter 32 tablespoons of butter, it converts to 2 cups.

  • Click a sub-recipe listed as an ingredient to print the sub-recipe.

  • When View Ingredient Analysis (per Serving) is selected:

    • Click the expander icon to view all nutrient values for a selected ingredient.

    • Select a specific nutrient in the empty column to view nutrient values.
