Creating and Managing Menu Content in Menu Builder
You can build menus by adding menu items to the courses for the regular menu. You can select from existing menu items or create new menu items. Menu Items are automatically spread to all therapeutic menus if the menu item is suitable for both the texture and special diet(s). You can add Every Day menu items and menu items served at all 3 meals to make meal ordering more efficient and provide additional choices for residents at meal time.
Week of Menu - Select the week you want to view or edit.
Copy icon - Select option. You can copy all the menu items in a week for a specific meal(s) to another week(s).
Menu Days - Select the day you want to view or edit. Select Every Day for menu items available everyday. For example, coffee, tea, or scrambled eggs at breakfast.
Meal List - Select the meal you want to view or edit. Select All Meals for menu items available at all meals. For example, specific beverages and condiments that are available at Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Copy Therapeutics - Select option. You can copy the replacements, portion adjustments, and extras saved for a therapeutic menu to 1 or multiple similar therapeutic menus.
Meal Courses - Select the course you want to view or edit. To review the entire meal, select Show All to see all courses and sub-courses in the menu entry screen.
Nutrient Analysis of M Choices - Click to enable to view a nutritional summary by meal and day above the Regular and Therapeutic Menu panels.

After enabling, there is an additional option to View Breakdown by Menu Item.
Nutrient Analysis Summary - Provides a nutritional summary by meal and day for all main choice menu items found in the Regular and selected Therapeutic Menu.
Refresh icon - Click to refresh nutrient summary after adding or removing menu items.
Show All Nutrients icon - Click to view a complete list of nutrients.
Printer icon - Click to print the Menu Nutritional Analysis Report.
Blue Values - Value is lower than the Nutrients Rules set for the Special Diet(s) associated with the Therapeutic Menu.
Red Values - Value is higher than the Nutrients Rules set for the Special Diet(s) associated with the Therapeutic Menu. For more information, see Creating and Managing Special Diets.
Free Text Box - Type the name of the menu item and select from the list to add to the meal course. The list only shows items that are suitable for the Regular or Therapeutic Menu.
Magnifying Glass - Click the magnifying glass to open the Add Menu Items screen. Search for menu items, select 1 or more items, and click Select to add to the meal course.

When Suitable Menu Items Only is selected, items that are not suitable for the Regular or Therapeutic menu are hidden.
Create New - Select option. Create a new menu item to add to the meal course. For more information, see Creating and Managing Menu items.
If you cannot find a specific item when typing in the free text box, the item might not be suitable for the therapeutic menu. Click the magnifying glass and clear the Suitable Menu Items Only check box to verify.
Click the Legend button for a definition of all the icons.
Click the yellow circle to make a menu item a main choice. An M symbol appears next to the menu item.
If a menu item is not suitable for a specific therapeutic menu, the item appears red and struck out. You can add a replacement item for the therapeutic menu, if needed. For more information, see Creating and Managing Therapeutic Menus.
Click the print group icon next to the menu item to change the print group. This changes which print group the menu item prints on the meal ticket for this instance in the menu. To edit the default print group, you must edit Menu Item Details.
Click the menu item to open the Menu Item Details page to view or make changes to the menu item details: category, serving size, recipe or nutrient links, and allergy, special diet, and texture suitabilities.

2 print options are available:
Select Print Instances Where Found to run the Menu Item Find report, to view all instances of this menu item in your organization. You can see which menu sets and facilities are affected if you change menu item details or suitabilities.
Select Print Change History to view recent changes to a menu item, including changes to suitabilities, serving size, and nutrient or recipe links.
Click the portion adjustment icon to change the portion for a menu item.
An exclamation icon for a main choice menu item indicates there is a nutrient analysis problem that must be corrected.
For best results, print the Summary report to legal size paper.
