Managing Unfed Residents

You can place meal orders for Select residents, view meal status, view order summary, and either Auto Suggest or Repeat Previous Orders for Non Select residents.

Note

Residents that are missing a diet order do not appear in Unfed Residents. Click 'Print Report' to identify the resident(s).

Menus > Order Manager > Unfed Residents.
Select the filters as required.
Complete the fields as required.

Delivery Date - Change the meal order date, if applicable.
Unfed Only - Select to show only residents whose meal orders are not placed for the selected meal. Clear to show all residents.
Residents with Previous Orders - When selected, residents that have historical meal orders for the menu day appear with an H. For example, Week 1 Wednesday Lunch.
Include Meals on Hold - Select to include residents who are set to Meals on Hold or have custom holds.
Select Only - When selected, shows all residents that can select their own meals.
Non Select Only - When selected, shows residents that cannot select their own meals and receive main choice menu items according to the therapeutic spreads defined in your menu set.
All - When selected, shows residents that are both Select and Non Select.
Resident(s) missing a Diet Order: Click Print Report to identify residents that are missing a diet order.
Status - The B, L, and D meal icons change based on Order Status. You can click the B, L, and D meal icons to view the Order Summary if the meal order icon is green, yellow, or red.
Note
The meal icon letters are based on Facility Setup > Meal Name Setup > Short Name.
- Grey - Meal order is not placed.
- Green - Meal order is placed.
- Red - Resident refused the meal.
- Yellow - Meal order is on hold due to change in diet order or contains unsuitable menu items. You can review held reason in the Order Summary.
S or NS - Indicates resident is either Select or Non Select.
Resident Name, Unit, Room, Bed, and Dining Area - Click in these areas to go to Meal Ordering.
People or List - Select option. Click Add/Edit Dislikes or Calorie Count. For more information, see Managing Dislikes and Completing a Resident Calorie Count.
Repeat Previous Orders - Places the same meal order as last time the menu day was served for residents that have an H icon in the filtered listing. For example, Week 1 Wednesday Lunch.
Auto Suggest and Place Orders - Automatically places meal order for filtered list of residents to receive main choice menu items according to the therapeutic spreads defined in your menu set.

Residents with an Ordering Not Required (ONR) special diet or texture in their diet order do not appear in Unfed Residents or Meal Orders.
Residents assigned to an Ordering Not Required (ONR) unit do not appear in Unfed Residents or Meal Orders unless they are assigned to a dining area for the selected meal.
The main choice menu item is excluded on Auto Suggesting if the resident has the same item as a standing order, or if the resident has a standing order for an alternate to the main choice. For example:
- The main choice item is Coffee and the resident has a standing order for Coffee. Only 1 Coffee is added to the order.
- Tea is the alternate to the main choice item of Coffee. The resident has a standing order for Tea. Only Tea is added to the order, Coffee is excluded.
